Stephen A. Finn PARTNER
Steve is a civil litigator who concentrates in the fields of personal injury and land use law. Among the many recognitions he has received are The Best Lawyers in America® for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs and The Best Lawyers in America® for Land Use and Zoning Law.
Steve has obtained numerous verdicts or settlements each over a million dollars in all types of cases including pedestrian and bicycle cases, motorcycle and car accidents, uninsured/underinsured motorist cases, and medical malpractice. Many of the cases involved a defense of no-liability and a number of the verdicts were unsuccessfully appealed to a higher court by the defendant.
In his zoning practice, Steve has represented schools, churches, country clubs, real estate developers, quarries, corporations, and individuals before local land use boards such as Inland Wetlands Commissions, Planning and Zoning Commissions, and Zoning Boards of Appeal. When the approvals from these Boards or Commissions have been appealed to Court, Steve has been successful in having the appeals dismissed.
Steve received his undergraduate degree from Washington University (A.B., magna cum laude, 1975), where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi (a recognition of his achievements in scientific research). He received his law degree from the University of Virginia (J.D. 1979) where he was Honors Counsel.
