Partner Steven Frederick and Associate Kurosh Marjani recently prevailed in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association's International Centre for Dispute Resolution. The firm represented META Group Pacifico, Ltd. ("MGPL"), a South American distributor for META Group, Inc., a leading provider of information technology services and publications. After MGPL invested several years and substantial sums in building its distribution business, META Group terminated MGPL's distributorship, claming that MGPL failed to meet the "quota" contained in the parties' distributorship agreement. After a hotly contested, and heavily briefed, arbitration, the firm was able to convince the arbitrator that MGPL did not breach its agreement with META Group, and the arbitrator awarded MGPL damages, as well as costs and attorneys' fees.
